Amherst Lacrosse Club (ALC) has been formed to provide instructional lacrosse training and league play for the boy’s and girl’s ages 6 – 14. ALC is a volunteer organization with all of its members, coaches and assistant coaches coming from the ranks of the parents of the lacrosse players.
ALC encompasses the Amherst and Mont Vernon schools as well as the Souhegan High School. Although ALC is not directly affiliated with the Amherst Schools, we help in preparing the boy’s and girl’s to compete and play lacrosse at the high school level. Approximately 98% of all Souhegan High School lacrosse players come from the ranks of ALC.
Boy’s and girl’s ages 6-8 learn the basics of lacrosse in a fun environment while players in the 8-14 range are taught the game of lacrosse in a supervised manner.
Boy’s and girl’s lacrosse are played with different rules and regulations, different lacrosse sticks and field size and they have different equipment requirements. Girl’s lacrosse requires a girl’s lacrosse stick, protective goggles and a mouth guard. Boy’s lacrosse requires protective equipment: stick, helmet, mouth guard, shoulder and elbow pads as well as gloves. Please refer to the “Girls Rules” and “Boys Rules” pages under the “Parents” tab for additional information.
